On Thursday, December 9th the NJ Domestic Worker Coalition – Adhikaar, Casa Freehold, Lazos America Unida, New Labor, Unidad latina en Acción NJ, Wind of the Spirit, and NDWA – held a rally in Trenton, NJ to call on the state legislature to pass the NJ Domestic Workers Bill of Rights this year. The NJ Bill of Rights will ensure that domestic workers are included in labor protections that cover other workers in NJ, and will guarantee meal and rest breaks, written contracts, and notice if an employer terminates employment, among other important protections. Congratulations to all the domestic workers in NJ who have been fighting hard all year to pass this bill!
